A Monmouth University poll released Tuesday finds Cunningham with a 48 percent to 44 percent lead over Tillis among registered voters. In a scenario of likely voters participating in a high turnout election, Cunningham is ahead by 49 percent to 44 percent. The race is tighter in a low-turnout scenario, with likely voters favoring Cunningham by 48 percent to 47 percent. The poll was conducted by telephone among 500 registered North Carolina voters between October 8 and October 11....

The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) repeal of the rules allowed internet service providers to once again slow or block websites and apps or charge companies more for faster speeds to consumers. More than 22 million comments resulted from the repeal proceedings, 18 million of which the attorney general’s office found were fabricated. Broadband for America, an industry group, spent $4.2 million generating more than half of the fake FCC comments, and a half-million fake letters were sent to Congress, according to the attorney general....
