ESPN’s ‘First Take’ analysts were today discussing the Latvian’s future in New York, and when Max Kellerman was asked if the Knicks should match any contract offers for Porzingis, Kellerman was scathing in his response:
The Knicks have failed to make the playoffs for more than a half a decade, and the team has made a dismal 10-30 start to the 18/19 NBA season. Due to this, Kellerman went on to claim that Porzingis would benefit from playing under Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs:
Nevertheless, a trade for Porzingis looks incredibly unlikely before the February trade deadline, so we will most likely have to wait until the summer to see how this all plays out.
